My kind of travel is a little different.
For my groups, I'm not looking for the comfiest hotels, luxury restaurants or perfectly organised experiences.
I'm looking for authenticity.
I want you to really experience another country — the long roads, the local food, the unexpected stops, the basic accommodation, the mud, the sand and the moments you could never plan.
I'm not interested in taking you from one famous Instagram spot to another.
I want you to come home thinking:
“That was definitely worth it. I'm going to remember it for the rest of my life.”

You're intrepid, adventurous and a little dauntless.
A basic bathroom won't ruin your day.
A bit of mud isn't a tragedy.
And you'd rather discover somewhere unusual than stand in line for the same photo everyone else already has.

So, who am I?
I'm Sofia.
An Italian girl based — sometimes — in Spain.
Traveller, storyteller and professional over-packer.
Travelling has always been my biggest passion, but busy tourist places have never really been my thing.
I've always been more attracted to the places that make people ask:
“Why would
you go there?”
Those are usually exactly the places that make me want to go.
Where it started
It started
in Mauritania.
The idea for Dauntless came during my first trip to Mauritania, where I went to ride the Iron Train.
We were around 15 people from completely different parts of the world. There was even a girl who had travelled all the way from Hawaii.
At the beginning we were strangers.
A few days later, we were sharing this completely crazy experience together.
And that's when I realised something.
The destination was incredible — but the group was just as important.
“I don't want to just be part of groups like this.
I want to create them.”
I wanted to bring together people who probably would never meet otherwise and help them discover unusual places together.
That was the beginning of Dauntless.
Why
Dauntless?
The name comes from one of my favourite films, Divergent.
In the story, society is divided into different factions, and the Dauntless are the fearless, unconventional ones.
They experiment. They challenge themselves.
They choose the unknown instead of the safe option.
And that felt very close to the kind of traveller I wanted this project to represent.
Not someone who is literally fearless.
Someone who is curious enough to go anyway.
Dauntless isn't
a destination.
It's a type
of traveller.
These trips
aren't for everyone.
And that's intentional.
If your perfect trip means luxury hotels, perfect Wi-Fi and everything going exactly according to plan, we're probably not the right fit.
But if you want to see places most people never consider...
If you're willing to sacrifice a little comfort for a much better story...
And if the words:
“I have no idea what this is going to be like, but I need to go.”
sound exciting rather than terrifying...
then you're probably one of us.
So...
